About Capability Brown
Lancelot “Capability” Brown was the premier landscape gardener or landscape architect of the 18th century in the United Kingdom. He worked with homeowners to transform their outlook, achieve a vision and leave a lasting legacy for centuries to come.
His team didn’t just write a plan or give a diagram and walk away. They were the very definition of a full-service approach that managed the whole transformation and growth.
It is estimated that Brown was responsible for over 170 gardens surrounding the finest country houses and estates in Britain. His work still endures at Belvoir Castle, Croome Court, Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, Harewood House, Highclere Castle, Appuldurcombe House, Milton Abbey and in traces at Kew Gardens and many other locations.
We make no claims and have received no money or titles from his efforts but it remains an inspiration to us.
We seek to work with Founders who have a vision that they want to bring to life. In that way, we are committed not just involved in the process to bring that vision to reality.
Our model
We work
We work directly with the Founding team to help them achieve their long-term vision.
We take a retainer for the tangible work that we do and when we bring the company deals or investment we take a percentage in cash and or shares.
Goldilocks zone
Too small and the company doesn’t have the capital, product-market fit, vision and leadership to take advantage of our services. Too big and the company is too close to acquisition or IPO for us to make a difference.
Sector-wise we focus on Edtech, Edutainment, Fintech and Identity.

No – too much risk for us. Capital raising takes time and we can only afford to take it on as part of full support service with founders that we will work with long-term.
